I remember watching The Love Boat when I was a kid …
The Love Boat was an uplifting and happy show, with a sense of romance in the air. Everyone was finding love, even Gopher! Then right after The Love Boat, Fantasy Island would come on and everything would change.
At first blush, Fantasy Island seemed like The Love Boat if it took place on a tropical island, but Fantasy Island was like The Love Boat if it took place in The Twilight Zone!
I was always fascinated with Fantasy Island. The mix of tropical, danger, mystery and the unknown kept me glued to the couch till it was way past my bedtime. I guess I can say these things would also apply to my love of Tiki.
Fantasy Island! What a great theme for Tiki Kon 2018!
I have to say that my favorite part of Tiki Kon is registration. It’s when for the first time in a long time for you to reconnect with tiki friends that you haven’t seen in a while. It’s nice to have a chat before the tiki drinks start flowing and action begins.

What do you do after you’ve had a plate full of food and a couple of drinks? You head down to the Crow’s Nest Room Party and drink some more!
Susan and Michael needed a U-Haul to have room to bring all the props and supplies for their room party … and they did an amazing job!
