There’s a lot of tiki going on in the Mid-West. I’ve visited five different tiki bars in the Chicago area and that’s not including Foundation up in Milwaukie! A couple of new tiki bars have recently opened up in Illinois and Wisconsin which I need to visit, but the one tiki bar that I want to visit the most is the home tiki bar of Carl and Debbie Michels. Sometimes the action isn’t happening in the middle of a city. Instead, sometimes it’s happening in a strip mall far out in a town called Des Plaines.

Tiki Terrace is located in an unassuming shopping center. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but head on in and you’ll find yourself in a full-on Hawaiian luau!
